finished this baby last night. it's the first FO in quite awhile that i've really liked. it's the second version of the toronto skylike dk hat i did a few weeks back. this one's for the DH-- i used his favourite colours and made bigger earflaps. my camera is broken right now so these photos aren't the best quality-- sorry. more info on my blog too.

i'm getting ready to publish a pattern for this (skyline optional) so i'd love to hear opinions about what you'd like to see in a double knit pattern. i know its a relatively esoteric technique (esp. for a hat) so i'm trying to gauge how much instruction to put in as far as the techniques go, as well as any other little things you'd like to see or know about it.

thanks ya'll. have a good president's/family day. i'd love to hear some feedback

I love it, so glad you're getting a pattern written up! Double knitting confuses me so much, but I don't really have any specific questions or concerns, so maybe if you take extra care explaining the technique I'll get it. Hopefully.

it seems like a lot of people have this problem. on ravelry most concerns were about how to correctly hold the yarn, as opposed to how to do shaping or knit a dk chart. so i think this will probably be a photo-obese pattern so i can explain step by step though photos. which means i'll be knitting at least one more hat with the technique before i can publish it. i'll post back to this thread when i do, though.

thanks for the feedback
