Have you or do you want to make this world a bit of a better place? I've been thinking of a going green swap that would be fairly cheap to do because the mass of it you could only use what you have already, you know you need to get rid of all that extra of yarn, felt, fabric, beads etc before raiding your favorite craft stores for the 3rd time this week Wink

It would a good chance to make shopping bags to help reduce on the amount of plastic/paper used. And reuse/recycle things you normally would throw out.

Anything you include in this swap would be something you saved from getting trashed  (sample), you using what you already have instead of buying new stuff, creating something to help the enviroment (like this), if you do buy something it has to be thrifted/used to cut down on waste. Smiley

What do y'all think of something like this?

I'd be very interested.  Smiley  Actually, I was recently thinking it would be cool to do a reusable bag swap.  I see so many cool designs for them and it would be neat to trade them.  But, I'm not sure I'm creative enough to make a necklace from a shampoo bottle LOL  Though I do like to craft with all of Mr Ruby' scrap copper.

This sounds fun!  Could we use stash stuff too?  My family is having a buy nothing year this year, so new supplies are out of the question.  I love knitting those shopping bags, but I'd have to use yarn...and I don't throw away yarn, so it wouldn't really be "saving" it.  Also, I don't throw away fabric, and I don't buy new clothes, so I wouldn't be able to sew anything...  Do you know what I mean?  If stash is allowed (even in a limited amount)  I would love to do this!

We're getting a composter this summer, and my family is trying to get down to a small grocery bag of trash per week. (for 5 people)

Awesome. Yeah stashes are good, anything you already have. It would be nice for people not to have to use anything Smiley Maybe just a grocery bag swap would be nice Smiley

We could do something where you can use stash on one largeish thing...like a re-useable bag...and then everything else out of totally recycled stuff...

I really love seeing what people can come up with for reusing glass bottles and paper and tin cans.  I've seen awesome stuff done with reconned tshirts!

I think that this would be fun to do! I am always trying to think up ways to make stuff out of my garbage! I have never done a swap before, so I don't really know how it works...

After being one of the first to express interest, I'm not so sure I'm going to be able to commit right now Sad  Last nigth I kind of agreed to make the bridemaids dresses for my best friend's wedding.  Its only two, and a simple pattern.  But I am still very scared!  So I don't think I can commit to another swap on top of that Sad

I love this idea, I am just afraid I wouldn't be able to come up with anything creative.
