I'm one of those gals who loves to have a gigantic purse, but hates having to rifle through it looking for my phone or bank card (lack of pockets). I'm really loving all the owls that I'm seeing lately, and decided to take matters into my own hands.
So I dug out my "good" ole sewing machine. She wasn't so "good." She didn't work and I ended up sewing about 90% of this darn thing by hand. After much cursing and urges to throw her out the window- I was pretty darn determined to have it done for the weekend. So what should have been a 3-4 hour project, turned into a week-long project. But it's ok because I'm happy with the final result!

and more detail of the owl pockets. great for lighters and phones.
the insides of these pockets are lined.

the inside, with pockets along the sides.

baby owl on the side.

after all was said and done I added an owl charm to the zipper

whew! thanks for looking!

Wow! That is beautiful! And I love the colors, too! And to think so much of it was hand done, wow again. I can't imagine ever getting anything done handstitching.

OMG, I love it!  I need a purse just like that.  I was just shopping for a purse today that was on the bigger side but had lots of compartments.

Did you follow a pattern?   I wonder if I could sew something like that.  I'm not a great "sewer"!

Well thank-you everyone!  Cheesy
I didn't follow a pattern, I just combined a bunch of ideas from purses I've been seeing lately.
I haven't sewed in about 4 years so this was quite challenging for me.
I guess those years of 4H sewing that my mom forced me to take are paying off, haha.
