My husband has been riding motorcycles for about 40 years. Last year I surprised him and learned how to ride myself. He was ecstatic Shocked He told me that he wanted to get a tee shirt printed with the sentiment expressed on the shirt below. (the B-word being the understood term among bikers for the person who rides on the back).

Well, I did him one better! My daughter took a few pictures of me on my bike and I blew them up on a photocopier. Then I drew over the copy with an iron-on transfer pencil (with a few enhancements) and transfered my design to muslin. After I finished embroidering I used Wonder Under and a zig-zag stitch to put it on to a nice black shirt. I gave it to him for Christmas and he absolutely loves it.

I had so much fun doing the embroidery. It had been years since I'd done any. What a wonderfully satisfying craft! Glad I have a place to share cuz I'm pretty darn proud of it Grin

That is so awesome in so many ways!  The image is cool, but because it's actually YOU it's even cooler.  The fact that you took a significant event in your life and turned it into a useful and appreciated gift for someone so significant in your life is pretty damn inspiring!  If I'd realized I could "enhance" myself through embroidery, I might have though of embroidering myself a long time ago! That shirt is sweet and the story behind it makes it even better.  It's really special and I love the embroidery, especially for your hair and the bike details.

I really appreciate the thoughtful way you put that. Thank you, MistressT.

Ya, I got a kick out of concentrating on the details like my V-Twin engine, the cut of the pipes, and the braided cables (kind of hard to see here). Thanks!

Drive carefully!!!
Thanks kahlan, "keep the rubber side down!"

I'm getting a Ducati 695 Monster. I can hardly wait. I've been saving all winter! My boyfriend is pissed because I got my license before he did and I'm getting a bike before he is. Ha, ha!! (He's getting a 2nd degree and is in school - no time for fun).

Santa Fe is ok. It's pretty, but really boring! Zzzzzzzzzz. Small town...
