I saw this lamp at Spencers the other day and thought it'd  be really easy to make..but I've yet to get the right stuff for it :\ It was a chinese take-out box, (I forget what they're called..those cool shaped ones though ^_^ ) and it had chinese symbols cut out in the side for light to come thru, and there was a lightbulb inside and a little hold in the back for the cord to come out of. You could probably just paint and design the box like you want and do the lighting stuff. I dunno. I thought it was really cute.

Hey I just saw those today at Funusual! As soon as I did I had the same thought of 'hey I could make that'. They are really cute and probably pretty easy to make. I liked how they had chopsticks sticking out of it.

Sounds like a lampshade is calling me. But at my chinese takeout we get those stupid little boxes. Those take out things should be universal. It should be a law that you have to have those in your shop. Yea!

I'm not sure what kind of take-out containers you're talking about but you can check for it here:

Under "Tea, Snacks, Condiments" they have the standard white take-out boxes and some colored ones. If you search for "take out" they also have translucent plastic ones (in a variety of colors) and brocade ones.

I LOVE Pearl River... they have all kinds of cool little imports that I have on my wishlist.  Grin

i bought some silver slippers with butterflies embroidered on them from that website.  I'm going to wear them in the spring and summer outside with jeans.  I'm happy with them.  now i want to get the satiny slippers with the beaded dragonflies.  http://www.pearlriver.com/v2/FramesCat.asp?iGroup=95

I've never ordered their shoes (but I SO want to) but I've ordered other things. I'm happy with the service. The only negative thing I have to say about them is that the shipping takes awhile. They usually don't ship the stuff out for a few days after they get the order so that + the shipping time from New York to Minnesota makes for a bit of a wait. Not a huge deal, just make sure you leave a few weeks leeway if you're ordering the items for a particular event.
