SO, my daughter was complaining she couldn't find pants to fit her tiny waisted, long legged boy.  A*ha, said I - having seen super cute boys pants with appliqued matching shirts here on craftster I figured I could do the same.

So, I made him two pair of reversible pants (Elmo/Muppets and Thomas the Tank Engine/Train Tracks) thinking he would LOVE them.  No.  Turns out he hates pants.  Doesn't want to wear 'em.  Ever.  Since it doesn't get too cold here he can usually get by with shorts, but sometimes his legs are awful blue!  Once in a while she says she can talk him into the Elmo pair.

Unfortunately, I'd already cut these out, so decided to go ahead and make them anyway.  Who knows if he'll ever wear them.  So I'm posting them here in hopes that someone else will like them as much as I do.  The planets go all the way around the shirt:

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

I love it too, esp the quote! Did you use iron on paper for that?

Maybe once he sees this set he will want to wear pants. Either that or he can follow Scottish tradition and wear skirts!  Wink

Thanks for all the kind words!  He's such a fuss budget about pants.  Silly boy.

livvyloo: All the appliques are that tuff bond applique stuff that you iron on, peel off and then iron on the shirt.  I machine satin stitched around the planets, but not the letters as they were too tiny.  I thought about doing a straight stitch over them, but the seemed to be really stuck on.  (And besides, he probably won't wear it anyway  Cheesy)

tuff_as-snails:  Ya know, I remember that dress - big full skirt, VERY cute.  I wonder if that was in the back of my mind when I saw the fabric.  (Love your screen name BTW - funny.)
