Pincushion Shaped Peg Board for my sewing room!!! IMG HEAVY!

Let me first tell you that when I painted my sewing room that lovely shade of Tiffany Blue that I went on and on about needing a peg board to go over my sewing table. It was plain as could be up there, and I needed something resourceful to hang my scissor/rulers etc on. So a few weeks back, I was visiting my sister who was remolding her business and I had a random thought- “Why don’t I hang that peg board I was thinking about…”…”Why don’t I make it…CRAFTY..”…”Why don’t I make it shaped like…like….a spool of thread…”…”NO! A PINCUSHION…”

So…I went to Lowes..got the pegboard. I had my husband draw a tomato on there for me. Let me just say from experience that it is NOT smart to attempt to use a jig saw for the very first time on a perfectly drawn tomato. I’m not patient either, let me just throw that out there. So waiting on him to get home from work to be able to start on my tomato pincushion wasn’t an option. So….I do what every girl would do. Get a sharpie. Two. Red & Purple. I got the peg board (the end that I hadn’t chopped to death) and drew my pincushion shape on there…and again…and again…and again. Then the jig saw...thats another story. Lets just say that I had to call my Dad for re-reinforcement and with his HUGE help, the tomato was born. He also sanded around the edges to make them smooth. He was a lifesaver!


Surely paint will cover my red and purple sharpie marks, right? Um No.

Don’t forget the vinyl pins! All done.

I am in love with my new crafty pegboard! It’s really quite large, and I have tons of space for baskets and whatnot to hang on there, out of my way.I hope you love it too!!

I think it looks great, and any addition to a crafting space that will keep you smiling when it all goes wrong is always a bonus! And for some reason i think a giant floating tomato pincushion holding all your bits and pieces would do that 

The vinyl pins really finish it off well. So creative!
