Wee!  For xmas I made my ex MIL and my mom these http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=211202.msg2266008#msg2266008.  I had asked The ManFlesh if he wanted a pair for his mom and he said "If they had fabric with cowboys."  Well, I knew that Alexander Henry had a cowboy beefcake pattern (is that redundant?), but I could never find it at my local stores.  Well, yesterday I found it!  And here they are:

Appliqud onto a double-thick flour sack towel:

Sewn to Insulbrite, that quilted, insulated, silver-on-one side stuff:

I included with all of them a paper wrap that said in a kitschy font, printed in ink to coordinate with the specific fabric.  I threw together an example because I love the font.  The real ones said, "...who's handy in the kitchen."  Not "... that's handy in the kitchen."  I'm not objectifying them that much.

Thanks for looking!

All three of your creations are awesome! (towels, potholders and boxers) I absolutely have to get my hands on some of that fabric. And I love the little note you included in your gifts!!! Definitely "Rock" worthy!!!

I just delivered them to The ManFlesh last night and his mom is out of town, so she hasn't received them.  He seems to think she will, hopefully he's right.

My ex MIL told me that she's not using them, because she's displaying them.  My own mom is more into her accessories matching her kitchen, so I just made her hot pads (no towel).  I don't think they're on display, but she did take them to work to show off.

I'm making more today for a girlfriend for her birthday.

Here they are!  I think I've used each of the fellas on at least one thing now.  Wouldn't want to play favorites, you know.

This is the best fabric!  And I absolutely love what you have done with it.  I have been needing a blanket for my craft room and this is the fabric I HAVE to have!  Great job!

Where can you find the insulating stuff?  Insulbrite?  And how is it to sew?  Would it work on an insulated lunch box?

I bought it at my local large fabric store where they sell it in packages and by-the-yard.  It's often found in the same area as the interfacing and stabilizers.  It sews more easily than it cuts, trying to cut a double thickness is challenging.  The non-silver side and the batting are cotton, so it's linty, but more when cutting than with sewing.  It would probably help insulate a lunch box, but not like a mini-ice chest or anything because it doesn't have a lot of air pockets like Styrofoam or poly foam.
