Hi Everyone,

I decided to try a 3/4 gusset on a purse. I don't know about you but when i do a full gusset around the seam of the purse and when putting the gusset in, it gets so thick to where i have to manually operate my sewing machine or risk in breaking needles... sooooooooo i decided to do a 3/4 gusset to where the ends do not have it closed up by a gusset.......whatta ya think of this style???

thanks for the comments (good and bad)

Here it goes....................

Closer view of purse

The 3/4 gusset

The inside

OK, here's what i did tonite to match this purse!

A wallet and a checkbook cover

back of wallet (zippered coin pocket)

Check book cover

I put an elastic strip up near the registry to hold back the used tallies...

Thanks for letting me share and comments good or bad are welcomed!!!  Roll Eyes

Hi Hun,

You did a marvelous job on a fantastic bag.....I love the 3/4 gusset....*mental note to self.....do 3/4 zip gussets, that way no more stuggling and feeling like I should be a contautionist (spell??) when attaching the gusset to the main section*

I also love the front of the purse....what pattern did you use?  It looks sooooo great.  I *love* this bag/purse.

I created my own pattern.

Thanks everyone for the comments! it was much easier putting this gusset in then having to fight with the side seams and the gusset side seams had I gone all the way across. I think that this gusset still works OK in keeping everything inside the purse. There is about a 3/4" to 1 inch gap at the very edges, that are opened that possible something may (or may not) fall out... however, i still think it will work well....
