I'm trying to make a convertable dress like I've seen on the posts.  Now I have stretchy fabric and no ball point needle, can i just use a universal needle or do I really have to go out and by a pack? Tongue  Either way, you advice would be appreciated.  Thank you.

yes, you need a ball point needle, regular needles will snag or pull the fibers in a knit. Good news: they should be under $5.
