I am so excited about this swap!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone recall "Faerie Tale Theatre"? I remember being fascinated with them as a child...and always remember “The Nightingale” with Mick Jagger. Can't for the life of me remember any other details of that episode though.  Tongue

Hi RondaS!

Yeah we will be in a swap together!

hi lady!

this is going to be fun, but I think I may end up having to do some serious research as I have never heard of most of the authors and books being mentioned!

I used to *love* that show when I was a kid Smiley  I remember Robin Williams as the Frog Prince and Eric Idle as the Pied Piper...those were my favorites.

I don't know that show but I do remember Jim Henson's Storyteller, which were simply stunning to watch, and they showed alot of the more obscure stories too, which I loved. I'm also remembering the original The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm and the 'dragon' story that the woman in the forest tells. That really frightened me as a child. I saw it the other day on TV and was devastated to see the state the print was in.

But, on topic, welcome to all our new members!

Is there any chance I can join? I'm in a swap now, my first one, but it ends two days after the sign up date ends, and I'm going to send this weekend!
I LOVE fae and fairytales, folklore etc.  I went to Waldorf school, which practically raises kids on such fun things, and I would really like to be involved.

PLEASE?

oh, and my favorite fae books etc...

WAR FOR THE OAKS by Emma Bull... TELL ME someone else has read this gem.

Also, Prattchet and Gaimen.

The Princess Bride, and Ever After are great...

But my very favorites are Grimm.  I love the old ones, Grimm and Anderson etc. I don't think anyone will ever match the Grimm Brothers
