I made another purse out of old coffee sacks left over from roasting, this one a little different. I love these! I based this on a tutorial I saw someplace, but I can't remember if I saw it on here or somewhere else, so if anyone recognizes it, feel free to post the link.

It was hard to get good photos since the lighting's so bad, but I'm sure you can get the idea. Smiley

Closeup of the lining and the zipper pocket. The color's off; it's really a pretty light green. Feel free to comment on how good I am at putting in zippers!  Grin

how cute! I've made some more messenger-style bags out of old coffee bean bags, but I'll have to try something new.  I can't seem to get away from the shedding and smelling like burlap Smiley

You should totally branch out. I started with messenger bags too, but burlap's nice because it holds its shape so well. I know what you mean about the shedding--that stuff gets everywhere! I haven't really found a good solution to this, so if you come up with something, let me know!

Thanks! I couldn't believe it when I started working at my coffee shop and found out they just threw out all the old coffee bags. Crazy!

Sadly, it just smells like burlap.  Sad These bags are used to hold the green beans before they're roasted, and they don't smell like coffee until after roasting. However, everything else I own (my car, my clothes, my hair...) smells like coffee, so I don't mind!
