This is a birthday gift for my mom. She's been keeping orchids for a couple of years now, and she absolutely loves them. She mentioned to me awhile ago that she didn't think one of her plants was going to bloom again.
This was a bit tough to photograph. It's just posted on my bulletin board for now. I'm not sure how to hang it.

It's needle felted and flat felted. It's kind of 3-D. The stem is round (pretty much a single green dread), and the leaf comes out from the stem and hangs down over the edge of the pot. It looks kind of flat in the pictures. I really wasn't going for anatomical accuracy or anything. I wanted to make it more detailed, but didn't really have time. I haven't had much felting time lately, so maybe I'm a little rusty.

Thanks for looking! Comments are always welcome. Smiley

MMMMM I love it! Although I'm a bit biased since I love both orchids and fiber, lol.

It's lovely you may want to mount it on some lavender poster board with a 1 inch edge to bring out the purple in the flower and create some stabilzation.

Thanks. Smiley It's actually a dark pink. The background is felted quite densely, so it's pretty sturdy. I've left it up to the recipient to decide how she wants to display it, so I didn't add anything to hang it.
