Backpack for an office dog

I hope its not poor form to post swap projects elsewhere, b/c I am just so happy with how it turned out.  I made it up as I went along, and its one of my more successful projects.    My swap partner's dog gets to go into the office with her, and since she has a german shepherd (who looks *just* like my pup), I made him a backpack for the office with space for file folders and pens.  Luckily, I had the twin dog to size and model for me.  So this is Zoe modeling Zach's backpack.

There is a strap that goes under the belly and another across the chest.  They are adjustable and connect with buckles.

Zoe looks like such a dutiful model!  Get that dog into catalog work! ("Dogalog" work?)  That is so awesome!  It reminds me of that saying about if you carry a clipboard and look intent no one will question why you're at that office.  "Well, that dog carried a clipboard and looked like it knew where it was going, so I assumed it belonged here."

I saw this on the other swap post. Your dog is gorgeous and this idea is so fantastic. Your dog looks so stoic and proud wearing the backpack.

Thanks for the compliments   But trust me.. she's not that good.  She is only 10 months old and a terror!  Cropped out of the picture is Mr Ruby holding a treat in front of her nose.  The only way you can get her to focus LOL

She's so cute!  She looks like she has some German Shepherd in her, so having a 'duty' is very important for them!  It helps them take things seriously!!  I would tell my Gus that his job was to watch the cat and make sure it used the litterbox!  He was great at it, LOL!  And so proud!

I love this holder, I need to make one for my someday service dog.  I need the dog to hold my keys, some bottles of water, maybe my hairbrush, just little things.  I was hoping to get a rescue greyhound to do it, and actually saw a greyhound looking dog working today, so I have some hope!

I could applique the service dog words onto the pack (federal and state laws don't have any official vest or badge for assistance dogs, but most people accept a service dog if it IS wearing a vest or pack!)

This is great, and probably useful for getting files from one desk to another!!!

How cool!!!  I wish I could bring my pooper into work with me.  He would be slobbering and licking everyone so I could only pack kleenex or paper towels in the pockets but it would be a riot.
