We were given an assignment in one of my apparel classes to take an old denim jacket, deconstruct it, re-design and reconstruct it.  Here is what I came up with:





(The belt loops through the grommets on the sides and weaves underneath the jacket)

The apparel teachers then picked their top five from all the classes combined and they were eligible to compete in a national competition in Dallas, TX.  I was one of the five picked to go and ended up taking third place in the national competition =)

There it was modeled by a professional on a runway:





The competition was sponsored by DIFFA, so the winning jackets were then auctioned off with the proceeds going towards an organization that works towards finding a cure for AIDS.

That looks very vibrant and SLIMMING!  So slimming.  Your model-lady does not need to wear anything that slimming.  I kind of want to give her a Hostess cake and a milkshake.  But yes.  Excellent job!

congratulations!  you did a great job.  i love the "belt" and the orange sleeves.  it really looks fantastic on the runway.
