what does everyone do with there handspun when you're done?  i've done a few balls now, and i'm not sure what to make out of it! haha

I make alot of touques, mittens, and scarflettes. I never seem to spin enough for a larger project.

But I just got the book Intertwined by Lexi Boeger yesterday, so I'm super inspired!!!! I love this book!

Fantastic fantastic FANTASTIC book!!  I got mine on Tuesday and have already read thru it once.  Now time to try the techniques!!  I ordered her first book, Handspun Revolution, from her website http://www.pluckyfluff.com/yarn.html  It's only $36 from her.. but since it's out of print, you can't find it for less than $150 at amazon, and barnes and noble can't get it...   so it was a great find!!  I even ordered a batt from her.. can't wait to get it!!  She is so inspiring!!

Have a few this week...

First is DUKE WINS!!!
3 oz
200 yards
alpaca, bamboo, silk, merino and glitz
From Loop, Midnight Magic, batt

It really sparkles.. the photos don't catch that well!!  It's really pretty.. the way the different colors of blue swirl together with the blue sparkles...

I spun this during the Duke vs. University of North Carolina game on Wed, since this is the Duke colorway.. royal blue and black.  We are hard core Duke fans in this house.... so I was staying away from working with anything that was a light blue (Carolina blue)  Hurrah!! Duke WINS!!

Spring Dreams..
This yardage is still unknown since it's still on the bobbin.. waiting to be set.
It's 3 oz of merino, tencel, corridale, silk and glitz.  It's SOO sparkley!!  I love the way the greens all swirl together with the green sparkles.. just like the blue in Duke Wins!!  This is from Sheeps Meadow batt, by loop

BlueBerry Pickin
4 oz, 130 yards
spun thick thin, plied with metallic silver thread
Merino, from Spunky Electric

Pink Elephants
4 oz, 250 yards
a touch overspun, so it would keep the little curls
Romney, from Spunky Electric

Happy friday everyone!!

As for me, I plan on spinning for doll hair and some knitting projects I've got planned for my step-m to do ^-~ She doesn't know it yet, he he

OOoh! I love Blueberry pickin!

Ok I am so going to have to order some more roving as I'm out!

This is half my next week contribution to FFriday. I haven't gotten the other half ready so I can ply it, but it's a huge single sitting on my spindle!

*same roving by the way, its from Terrific Creations on etsy. *

I love to look at all your yarns! They're gorgeous. Last week I posted my first project ever. Today I've spinned my second and still working on it.   Smiley I love to spin, it feels great (when you don't have to pick up the spindle all the time..)  Tongue

I love the spindle with the leaves on it!

I finally got on the Fiber of the Month bandwagon and I am so pleased.  I joined the Spunky Eclectic FOTM and this is my first month.  Snow Squall.  When I opened the package it was as though the fiber had been dyed specifically for me.  The colors in it are EXACTLY my favorite shades of blue and green.  Sigh.

I split the length of the roving so that I could make two batches of fairly equal navajo plied yarn.  I have a plan for this yarn and I'm hoping it works out.

I spun up the first half of it within a day but the second half is still on the bobbin due to me being sick...  Sad

As always, everyone has magnificent yarn.
grayling40 - Treehouse is so amazing!

I only spun one yarn this week, but it was a totally new yarn.  One ply is merino that I got from copperpot, and the other ply is yak.  Yes, I said yak.  Kind of coarse, it worked perfectly with the merino. (The yak is the brown, by the way)

Enchanted Night, 2.8 oz, 44 yards
