What an amazing act of guerrilla art.  I think the potentially temporary nature of your piece is thought-provoking as well.  Sorry is a word which goes out to be received but it's really only good until next time.  I think capturing the word in the way you have really speaks to the spirit in which it was intended and will give faith that the symbolic 'sorry' of your government will outlast your work and there won't be a next time.

I went back a couple of days ago and got some better day light photos

Yay no one has vandalised it yet!  And according to the bar staff, heaps of people have been taking photos of it Smiley

That is seriously awesome... Nothing better than my politics and my hobbies coming together in my city.

and as an aside... I've just realised I'm in a couple of your FB craft groups.

Sweet.

This is amazing, a great way to get your message heard. It must have taken a lot of patience to complete that. Good work!

This is seriously brilliant!! Well done!!

I love the idea of "reconquering" embroidery for good; my mother was a 70's style feminist so she refused to teach me any crafts (waste of women's time etc) so of course I got into arts and making things with my hands in a serious way via cross stitch kits!! Grin (other kids revolted against their parents by smoking...)

I missed this on your original posting, so glad I had time tonight just to trawl around and found this. Bloody good job! I will be in Melbourne in April, not sure if it will last that long but I will go have a squiz to see.
