I made a few little toggles out of Sculpey, this is the first of a series.

Ketchup red, mustard yellow, and relish green!

Can I get some honest feedback on this? It was an experimental design, there are some flaws I'm aware of,and some mistakes I won't be making in the next one, but I need to know where to make the improvements.
Did it make you hungry?   Tongue

I can smell the mustard!  I love how well the bag and the hot dog match.

first let me say your lil hotdog toggle is absolutely adorable, you've captured the things that make a hotdog good.

Next can I ask? did you sew it completely by hand?  I'm in total awe as from what I can see I think you did.  I hate actually doing hand sewing with a passion, so I completely admire anyone that has the patience and dedication to do it for a full project.

The only thing I can really suggest that would help with the overall appearance is to iron as you sew.  the corduroy should be able to handle a steam setting on the iron and would really press up nicely giving your straps a more professional appearance, and will also help keep the lining folded under where it belongs.  I know a lot of people think ironing is a step that can be skipped, but the results you get with it far outweigh the time it takes to do it Smiley  Overall though I really think you've done a very cute job Smiley

Very, Very cute.  I agree with Goth.  This bag has only one strap and is held closed with the hot dog?  I love it.

Yes it does. It's not -completely- hand-sewn, but as I have a broken ankle, I did a lot of sewing by hand while I languished on the couch. It looks wonky as it was an experimental design and it didn't turn out quite right. The next one will be done much straighter. You're right about the ironing, it wasn't until I took pictures of it that I really saw it. The next one I'll iron at every stage, I have another 5 or 6 toggles to go through, I want to get this design down. I think I've got it figured out, the next one should come out less wonky (I hope!)
