I bought this really cute felt ribbon thinking I could use it make my own guest book.  (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=290170949040&_trksid=p3984.cWON.m313.lVI

I cannot find a plain 8x8 brown scrapbook to use and I need other ideas.  All of the books I find either have a picture hole or something I don't want.

Any other ideas?  Would it be easy to recover a regular guest book in material that I like?

I'm not sure about re-covering one, but you could always put a monogram or something like that in the picture hole...  I like the ribbon, though, I can't wait to see how you use it!

I don't see why you couldn't recover a plain guestbook. I bought one from Michaels (http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=wd0150) for really cheap (clearance!) that has lined pages with space for names and addresses. The cover is simple.

I've never done it before but I want to bet that you could recover the outside with brown fabric and the ribbon you bought and paste scrapbooking paper over the inside edges of the cover. I'm sure it would look great!
