Sock blanket **new image host**

do your socks get eaten by the sock monster,leaving one sock behind? mine do. I started saving all my odd socks in a bag. after 6 months I went through the bag and paired up any which could be paired.... the others were sacreficed for this blanket.
I intended to bring squidge home from hospital in it but i wasn't finished in time and was then very ill after her birth....
changed picture as i cant find the one of cutiepie lying under it, but this is the second sock blanket I made-... and i have a new image host.

The blanket is a great idea and your little one is so cute! She has good taste to keep her Elephant near by. They're my favourite animal ^.^

So pretty! My great grandmother used to save the elastic-y tops from everyone's old socks to make quilts. She was the matriarch of a huge family (at least 25 grandchildren) and to save money she would cut the tops into rectangles and stitch them together until she had the dimensions she needed for a quilt. She used the recycled sock tops as batting and old jeans and denim clothing to make the quilt tops.
