do your socks get eaten by the sock monster, leaving one sock behind? mine do. I started saving all my odd socks in a bag. after 6 months I went through the bag and paired up any which could be paired.... the others were sacreficed for this blanket.
I intended to bring squidge home from hospital in it but i wasn't finished in time and was then very ill after her birth....
changed picture as i cant find the one of cutiepie lying under it, but this is the second sock blanket I made-... and i have a new image host.

she carries it round with her now, she wraps her elephant (who is never more than a foot away from her) in it too.

The invisible pink unicorn is the one stealing your socks. It is a sign that She favours you;) Take it as a blessing.

The blanket is a great idea and your little one is so cute! She has good taste to keep her Elephant near by. They're my favourite animal ^.^

HA HA HA HA.  I don't know why, but this struck me as SO HILARIOUS.

Ha ha ha.  And that tiny child looks so happy.  Tiny child.  Aww.

I remember when my daughter was tiny.  Sad

Anyway, I bet this is adorable but I can't see the picture.  Sad  Bandwidth exceeded.  I want to see your sock blanket!

So pretty! My great grandmother used to save the elastic-y tops from everyone's old socks to make quilts. She was the matriarch of a huge family (at least 25 grandchildren) and to save money she would cut the tops into rectangles and stitch them together until she had the dimensions she needed for a quilt. She used the recycled sock tops as batting and old jeans and denim clothing to make the quilt tops.

we have a sock monster in our house as well.  And funny how cute some of my daughter socks are.  Not sure if I have enough to make a blanket for her, but for sure, I could make one for her dolls.  What a great idea.  THANKS  Grin

We are a family of eight and i think we have atleast three sock monsters at our house.  I love this idea!  I could make a stinkin' blanket sized quilt with all the poor lonely socks we have in the sock basket.  Thanks for the idea Smiley
