For Christmas, my mom asked me to make a scarf for my aunt.  She gave me fair warning - she asked in early November, and I had the scarf done by the end of December (after Christmas, but it's the thought that counts, right?).  Then, for over a month, it sat on the desk in the family room because she and I disagreed on how to finish the scarf.  I wanted to leave the ends plain, because I thought fringe wouldn't look right with the busy pattern.  She wanted me to do some sort of corkscrew fringe or crocheted edging.  Ultimately, since it was my hard work that went into the production of the scarf, I decided to send it off sans fringe.  What do you guys think?  Sorry I couldn't get any "action shots" - my camera wasn't cooperating.

The specs:
Pattern stitch: Baby Cable Rib from Knitting on the Edge
Yarn: Vanna's Choice in Dusty Purple, 2 1/2 balls (my aunt is tall, so the scarf had to be long) - the true color is a bit lighter than it appears in the first picture.

Oh I agree. No fringe. It looks very sophisticated!

I'll bet your aunt really liked it.
