That's really great.  Now I have something to do with all those shirts that don't fit anymore.  Thinking.....thinking..You could probably crochet a jacket or sweater out of the fabric strips, too.  Or a hat.  I'm not much into rugs, but my mind is kinda spinning right now.

About the jeans thing.  I saw once on a craft show where they used strips of cloth, even with ravelly edges, to wrap around some cording & sew it into baskets or bowls.  I'm sure you could use the technique to make tote bags etc, something really durable.

That is really neat i love it. I tried to crochet with bags the other day about kill my arm and hands so i dont think i could do cloth crochet either. Your rug is really nice.

well the tshirts are fairly stretchy so i think they'd be easier to work with than the plastic bags
