oh boy now you've made me hungry  Grin

i found this recipe that look super yummy, i'm guessing that you could just dip it in the glaze instead of putting it on top Smiley
http://desertculinary.blogspot.com/2005/05/creamy-apple-cranberry-turnovers.html

also, to simplify it, if you don't want to make the dough you can substitute it with either refrigerated biscuits or crescent rolls (the kind in the can). i do this all the time because i'm impatient Smiley

it might alter the cooking time a bit though

i also found this one that uses phyllo dough, but it doesn't have the glaze... you could use the glaze from the first one though!

happy cooking!

alrighty, here's my idea for the knock off cran apple thing. at the grocery you can get frozen puff pastry it comes in a sheet that you thaw and roll to the right size. you fill it with a few slices of granny smith, some raspberry jam and some dried cranberries. backe according to the pastry package.

Alternately, you could get the things called fillo cups. if you bake an apple for awhile, it gets nice and delicious. core it, put it in a oven safe bowl, sprinkle with a tbs or so of brown sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg and maybe cloves, and a tiny, tiny bit of salt to heighten the spice flavors and to draw out the juice from the apple. put it in the oven at 375 for 15 mins.

then, pull it out and let it cool in the delicious juice until you can easily touch it. cut it into slices and fill the thawed phillo cups. put the cups into a muffin tin, and then put a little spoon of cranberry sauce and some dried cranberries on top. back in the oven for 5-10 minutes- or until the phillo cups are toasty brown.

serve with a scoop of ice cream. Bear in mind, neither of these will be exactly the same, and neither are terribly fast, but they'll turn out tasty.
