First time ever posting a tutorial! Very exciting.

After seeing stargirl52's awesome tape measure belt & pin, I had to share my love of tape measures too! And by request, here's the (very basic) instructions:

If anyone has ever made ribbon rosettes used to put on wrapped gifts, then you will recognize what I'm doing here.

Basically you take the tape (or ribbon, this would work with either) and make a little loop, and then another, and then another...you get the picture. I superglued the tape together as I went along. You can make it with as many 'petals' as you like.

I just glued a pin-back on the backside to finish it off and voila! A super nifty brooch.
Enjoy!

I love this! Once I buy a bunch of really cheap tape measurers (sp?), I'm going to have tape measurer bows on everything! Me, bags, everything!

Woohoo! Thankyou sooo much! You are ever so lucky that you have a pink tape measure! I can't stop doing exclamation marks! !!! That would look so cute on top of a present, but i wouldn't want to give it away!

That blows my mind!  I just so happened to be sitting her with a tape measure around my neck, because well... I'm crafty like that.  It really works!  So beautiful. Thanks for the tip!

That's simply amazing. Somehow I never realised those gift bows could be made by hand. I suppose I had always imagined them popping, fully-formed, from a bow machine in some factory. I must learn to expand my mind craft-wise.
