I made this all on my own so I'm proud.  I wrote the pattern down as I went but my dog ate it.  Really...he did.  I remember it, though, so if anyone wants it I will post it.

Okay, so it's obvious I'm a beginner...this pattern looks like a novel but it's the first one that I've written.  You can make the body, tail, and legs longer or shorter depending on your taste.

Amigurumi Valentine Kitty:

Head
Start with MR and crochet 7 into ring
Rnd 1   2 SC in each ch (14)
Rnd 2   Increase every 3 (21)
Rnd 3   Increase every 4  (28)
Rnd 4   Increase every 5  (35)
Rnd 5-11  SC in each ch
Rnd 12  Invisible decrease every 5 (28)
Rnd 13  Invisible decrease every 4 (21)
Rnd 14  SC in each ch
Rnd 15  Invisible decrease every 3 (14)
Stuff and shape
Rnd 16  Invisible decrease every stitch (7)
Weave in circle with tail and needle and pull tight to close circle and secure your end by weaving into circle a few times

Body
Start with MR and crochet 7 into ring
Rnd 1   2 SC in each ch (14)
Rnd 2   increase every 3 (21)
Rnd 3   increase every 4 (28)
Rnd 5   increase every 5 (35)
Rnd 6-10  SC in each ch
Rnd 11 increase every 7 (42)
Rnd 12-35 SC in each ch
Rnd 36 Invisible decrease every 7 (35)
Rnd 37 Invisible decrease every 5 (28)
Rnd 38 Invisible decrease every 4 (21)
Rnd 39 Invisible decrease every 3 (14)
Stuff and shape (I rolled it like a play doh snake between my hands to get it nice and round)
Row 40 Invisible decrease every stitch (7)
Weave in circle with tail and needle and pull tight to close circle and secure your end

Tail
--I stuffed the tail as I went along--
Start with MR and crochet 4
Rnd 1 Double Crochet in 2nd and 4th ch (6)
Rnd 2 Double Crochet in 3rd and 6th ch (eight)
Rnd 3-25 SC in each ch
Fasten off and leave a tail to sew it to the body

Feet (make 4- unless you are especially fond of 3 legged cats)
Start with MR and crochet 5
Rnd 1  2 SC in each ch (10)
Rnd 2-6  SC in each ch
Fasten off and leave a tail to sew each foot to the body

Ears (make 2)
Start with MR and crochet 4
Rnd 1 SC in each ch
Rnd 2 DC in each ch (eight)
Rnd 3-5 SC in each ch
Fasten off and leave a tail to sew to head.  Pull magic ring tail to shape and flatten ears into triangle shapes before you sew them the head
