Okey, here's a thought - When you take the keys off to paint, stick them in a sheet of styrofoam in the same arrangement that they are on the keyboard.  THen you will know where they go back easier.   ALso,  you could paint a part of a picture on each key and when you popped them back into place, it would create the large picture.

Good ideas! I really like the idea of making it a picture!

This keyboard rocks and I've been in a painting mood lately so I'll probably paint mine when I get the chance...awesome.
