I saw this earring hanger in a paper craft magazine over the holidays and I knew I had to try to make it! I used 2 sheets of 12x12 scrapbook paper, scrapbook eyelets and a hanger from the closet. I cut the paper to fit the hanger, glued it on with all  purpose white glue and then poked holes where the grommets went and added them with the tool included in the kit and my husband's hammer. I used a cutting matte underneath the paper when I was hammering to protect the table. I'm really pleased with the result! I only did one row for now, and I have some extra room for more fish hook earrings, guess I need to get busy making those now! Smiley Here are the pix(click for larger), hope you like it!

This is really cool!  I esp. like the different coloured grommets!

That's cool. The grommets make it look so nicely finished!

I like this idea a lot, but I really need something for my necklaces. I need to figure out a way to tweak this to make it work for necklaces, and then I will be a very happy girl!

I'll have to see if I can locate one in a thrift store...or MAKE ONE MYSELF! Wink How hard can it be, really...

But it won't be pretty like the way cool earring holder! And I won't get to use eyelets, either. Although, if I make the tie rack myself, I might get to use a hammer Wink

Actually...since you mention it, we used the idea of the tie rack to make a medal display rack for my husband's athletic medals... We found a cool piece of wood moulding, painted it in a glorious orange and used roof screws in an orangey color. We cut it to fit the room, so it actually is like a crown moulding and works great to display his medals... here's are pics  Cheesy

I was going to do this in a smaller fashion for my necklaces until I found his old tie rack, with so many different styles of moulding out there, you could have fun with that! And of course, there's always the cork board and crazy push pin... they have strips of cork board now for the office, but why not for the bedroom??  Wink

Looks like I'll be heading to Home Depot soon Wink And, I could incorporate the earring hanger into it, maybe. I usually keep my earrings in my awesome jewelry box, so I'm wondering if I could use the earring hanger for pins/brooches instead?

this is lovely! |I wonder if a lampshade would work in the same way, could look nice if you have lots of dangly earrings.
