Details of swap: This swap is super fun and a great way to get to know people and improve your skills.  Beginners and experienced hand embroiderers have all enjoyed this swap.  The swap consists of an embroidery tour.  You can send a cloth napkin, an apron, or a tea towel, whatever you choose your item should be a light weight, light colored (preferably white) fabric, suitable for hand embroidery, and inexpensive to mail.  If you have time before the send date you can embroider a little something on your item but it is more important the item (from here on out referred to as towel) go out on time.

Before you send attach with a safety pin or baste a tag to your towel with your name and address and put your towel into a Ziploc bag.  You may want to include a card to your fellow stitchers letting them know a little about you or your kitchen.

When you receive a towel YOU HAVE ONE WEEK from its arrival date until it needs to shipped out again.  If you have time take a photo and post your design but do not let this interfere with getting it shipped in the one week time frame.

When a towel arrives you need to let your group organizer and the sender know.

When you ship a towel you must PM the receiver and your group organizer and let them know (include the DC #).  If you are running late let your group organizer know.

Communication is key –failure to communicate could result in you being skipped.

Although this idea originally started with Sublime Stitching you can use any embroidery pattern you like. Please remember that several people need to embroider it in a short amount of time so pick something that fits with your skill level and allotted time frame (one week).

Anyone who is not in contact on a weekly basis via posts or PMs without prior notification will be considered flaking.  FLAKERS SLOW DOWN THEIR WHOLE GROUP, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SCHEDULE CAN ACCOMODATE THE TIME COMMITMENT.  The estimated time for completion of this swap is early to mid April.

RE DC Numbers:  If you are sending within the States we prefer you use a DCN because the item becomes pretty much priceless as it moves along.  Some of the girls are expert shippers and they likely have some tips on working the USPS system.

I have been waiting for this too.  I am excited. But I have not done a swap on craftsters before.  Can I still be in?  I sent a pm to rectangle.

DC#s are best for everyone all around.  We didn't have a problem getting them with USPS in the last rounds.  You do have to be sure your flat envelope is thick but not too thick. Usually folding the towel is fine, but you can wrap it in tissue or bubble wrap too.

Save your receipt or some proof of shipment if you are sending outside your country's border.  Smiley

I am sooooooooo excited about this swap!  The Tea Towel Tour 2 was my first swap ever to do and I have been seriously hooked to them ever since!  I can not wait for this one to start.  I had a blast last time around!
