Whoa, lots of replies!  Cheesy

As for books: My favourite, the one I learned most from, was French Beaded Designs by Donna DeAngelis Dickt. I'm pretty sure that's the right title. Dalene Kelly's books are good too, but I feel like Dickt's flowers look more realistic and more well-constructed.

I learned most of my techniques from the aforementioned books--so I'm sort of self-taught, in that I've never taken a class--but I'm at the point where I can make up my own patterns. The lily is my own design. Most of it I sketched out and planned before I started, but there were some adjustments that I had to make as I went.

Bead brain, don't feel bad that your first attempt wasn't the best. I mean, that's how it always works, right? The first few tries are just trial runs! My first few attempts were disastrous. Oh man. I have hand-eye coordination issues and not the best motor skills, and it took me forever to just figure out what to do with my fingers and how to manipulate the wire...never mind learning the patterns! It's been a year and a half since I started trying to make beaded flowers.

Wow. It's 2:30am and I am rambling like crazy. Hah. I'm so glad that my flowers have gotten such a positive response!  Cheesy
