My Kids’ Bathroom Redo:

This is how the bathroom has looked since we moved in back in May 2006.  Williamsburg blue wallpaper and florals.  Plus the floor was partially carpeted- yucky in a bathroom, IMO.  Probably has been this way since 1988.  Not the cute bathroom I envisioned for my kids.



I stripped the wallpaper and pulled out the carpet back in November.  At the end of November my parents came to visit for Thanksgiving, and I put my Dad to work!  He and I ripped out the old tile and installed the new tile floor.  It took more days than I planned- but we got it done.  I also made my Dad install the new lighting.  Then I primed and painted the walls and trim (I had a friend install the crown moldings).  Finally, I primed and painted the cabinets- 3 coats of black semi-gloss and new hardware.  All of this over 2 months time, because I can only work when the baby is sleeping and my daughter is in school!  Finally, I had my husband hang the towel bars, and I put up the cool artwork (that I bought from an Etsy artist- gotta support fellow craftsters).  I am so proud of this bathroom.  But, honestly- I will never do it again!!!!!
