That's really cute and sweet.

And my best friend is a huge KU fan as well. His dad used to play basketball there. Just felt like sharing.
He went to KU so I had to add that one! I hope he likes it!!

I would mix it up....

how did you do it?
1- acquire a Rubik's cube (stealing your siblings cube is not a good idea)
2- peel off the stickers, its amazingly easy, i was ready to peel all night with a knife... unnecessary.
3- with some photo editing program resize your pics,
I use photoshop 2 so you don't need anything fancy, crop to 305px by 305px,and    500 px/inch for best image quality.
4- make a new blank page 8.5x11 and cut and paste your image 9 times, so you have tons of tiny pictures on one page.
5- print on sticker paper!!!!!
6- spend forever cutting out 54 teeny tiny pictures
7- peel the backing off and place on your blank cube!
8- laugh at the amazingly cute idea you've just come up with , do a happy dance cause your so proud and share it with all the fantastic people on craftster

That is pure awesome. He will absolutely freaking love it!!! I also agree with not messing it up.
Thank you doll! I sure hope so, I think he will though, Ive talked it up enough he already thinks its fantastic, and he has NO clue what it is, I just kept boasting about how awesome it was gonna be, thank goodness it worked or he'd be getting a felt/pipecleaner/glitter card of us LOL I kid I kid!

Just a little tip =]
I did one of these for my boyfriend for our very first Valentines, too!  Except, I did larger pictures on each side - so I only had 6 pictures.  My boyfriends like the master at these, but we mixed it up and he deemed it unsolvable.    Something to do with the way you solve it, and the individual cubes being upside down and stuff.  So beware.  I think yours will be fine, because it's still way cute with all the pictures facing all different ways.
I love it though!  If I ever did another I'd definatly do it your way.

Really? I never would have thought about that. Is there a way to make sure it doesn't become unsolvable??

I thought about the one picture on each side but thought that it would look funny with the lines through the pics. So I went with the 9 copies on each side. Huuuummmmmmmmm, I wonder. It may never get mixed up. I think he'd be too afraid to mess it up!

printable stickers.
Originally i was gonna laminate them and use some SUPER HOLD PERMENENT double sided tape, glad I didn't take that rout, it would have taken much longer, lucky for me I cleaned a lil and found my sticker photo paper

Oh my god that is awesome!!!  Thank you so much for posting this!  Over the summer my boyfriend and I found his mom's old rubik's cube from when she was a teen at his grandma's and she gave it to us.  Some of the colors were faded off so we repainted it, but did a horrible job... but now I'm going to make it beautiful and give it to him for Valentine's.  It might not have the awesome packaging like yours, but it will definitely look better, and be special.  Again, thanks!  You rock!

This is great! At the risk of sounding geeky - if you do happen to mix it up you can google "rubik's cube solutions" there are a few simple solutions out there  Wink
