I had an NHS potluck meeting at lunch yesterday and our theme was thai food becuase we were introducing our tsunami fundraiser. Of course, no one knew what to bring (me included) so I went into my pantry and found a cake mix...

i had 3 different colors of frosting that I made- green, blue and red.
(frosting is really easy, just a stick of butter, a little milk, and lots of powdered sugar. and mix it a lot with a blender. Its the best frosting in my opinion...)
on top of the 13x9 cake i made a blue ocean, a green island in the middle, and a red heart in the middle of the island to symbolize the love and serivce that is going on in the east amongst the sorrow.
The cake was a hit!

the cake mix I used was a new flavor I have never seen before. It was natural vanilla cake (I think betty crocker makes it...?) but its got those little vanilla bean flecks in it like natural vanilla ice cream. I definately reccomend this cake flavor- it was so smooth and yummy!

please dont forget the tsunami victims- and those around the country being affected by flooding!
