You should totally let her wear it to school.  You never know you may start a fashion trend at her school, rofl!!!

oh no!  And then all the kids will want unholy combos of patchwork and lace and I think I'm the only sewing mama, and I will have to spend the rest of my life in the basement sewing such horrors!

As it is, her teachers and some of the other moms have been watching the monkey's wardrobe.  Some have even paid me to make something already... I should definitely be careful.

too cute - I remember those pregnancy hormones - they were responsible for lots of strangeness at our house.

All the clothes you make are adorable (as is your little one in them).  Although I would have to admit this one isn't my favorite of the lot  Wink

what a lucky girl to have a mom who is not only talented but funny - and has a good handle on what matters in life

Love your philosophy on kids in odd clothes.  My older grandson was going to a family get together recently and his mother told him that he could get dressed up if he wanted to.  She wondered why he seemed so excited until he came out with a costume he had totally made himself (Link from Zelda) asking if they had anything he could use as a sword.  He was crushed when she explained she had meant the "other" kind of dress up.  (She let him wear most of it - but nixed the sword)

And I'm taking heart from the previous comment about the little one coming around to clothes made for them.  The little grandson is skinny and long legged - his pants fall off.  So I made him adorable outfits (totatally craftster inspired) and it turns out he's decided he just hates wearing pants and will only wear Hawaiian print shorts or sweatpants.  I think I've got him though - he did agree he might wear pants if I would make them like his shorts.

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

Too cute! I think you kind of have to make the bonnet. That would add too the adorableness 1000%.

oh dear, I'm not sure if I could handle the wee one in sweats or hawaiian print shorts (although, worn together would be very bill and ted '80s, which may be the next big thing  Grin).
I find the introduction of sweets with new clothes to be a winning combo  Wink

I *love* your description....your monkey is super cute, as always. Here's hoping you have fewer lace emergencies in the future!  Cheesy

Your little monkey is too cute!! Her lovely big personality just shines through everytime she models for you! I love her big smile! The dress is pretty neat - I like that big patchwork design.
