including how to cut the fabric, I usually rip mine or buy mill ends that you can cut with an electric knife.

Amazingly, I only had to completely rip it apart once.  I had an awesome time making it, especially since I was making it for my Mom, who is the queen of holiday decor.

I learned a lot about the anatomy of a stitch, if that isn't too craft-geeky to say.

i think ur rug is awesome. i might have to steal the idea to give to my mom for xmas next yr. along w/ the afghan i have planned and the sweater and the gazillion other things that keep popping into my head
