Noob crocheter question: why do those headbands everybody loves have such a dangfangled long formal name? Caliometry or however it's spelled- sounds like some kind of algebraic formula as opposed to a pretty thing for your head....

I've wondered the same thing, and I don't have an answer, but when I 1st started looking at Craftster wishlists and had no idea what a "calorimetry" was (I don't know the correct spelling either but that's what people were using), I looked it up on wikipedia--and it has nothing to do with pretty crocheted headwear!

Snerk!  I did the same thing.

Maybe it has that name because it has something to do with losing most of our body heat from our heads and it keeps it in Huh

Kaissa - Your photos are awesome. The views from your house are amazing. I wish I lived there. Wow. It must be so calming to look out and see that everyday.

Ok here it all is!

There are 4 skeins of yarn, 2 in an acrylic/mohair blend (love), 2 in 100% wool (equally love) and a vintage knitting pattern book. Then 6 really cool good sized buttons, a thick and oh so warm headband for winter time! A stack of note cards with cute birds on them.

Then:

this wonderful bag inspired from a small wall hanging I had on my wist...the bag is so much better because it's in one of my favorite rusty orange colors and both sides have the tree image on them.

the inside is beautiful as well and holds a LOT! Theres a sectioned off portion with an elastic pocket and then 4 interior pockets. I so so love this and think this alone is more like a large wish!

But then to go with it and make it a set

2 zippered pouches, the one with the leaf is a length wise pouch, zipper on the small end, the one with the strap has internal pockets as well, both lined in the same fabric as the bag.

and inside more police badges YAY!!! I'm seriously going to just start collecting these in mass and make a police/fire badge quilt one day!

I love it all Huff this was such a wonderful package my stuff can never compare! And yes yes I am still hugging my new bag! I'm not insane all of you would too!

So much great stuff.  I love Kaissa's photos (need a roommate?, I guess not  Smiley), and I love the tree bag and so much more.

As for the Calametry (I also don't know the spelling offhand), 1) I love the color of that one (one of these days I'll make one for myself) and 2) it is knitted, not crochet (though I feel I have seen crochet versions, but it is on knitty.com as a knit item).  I know, details.  Nevermind   Wink

I received an AWESOME package from Anya Kase over the weekend with a "the 50's were for the birds" theme -- all good kitchen-y stuff with the coolest apron ever and lots of bird-related goodies.  I'm so spoiled!  I'll post pictures as soon as my camera stops being a jerk.
