I received from Emilee_bee yesterday!

Here are the goods!

A great tote/beach bag in my favorite color combo

Awesome t-shirt with a stenciled camera on it (we share a love for photography)

And then a great pouch that is now my "photo assistant" to hold photo equipment while I'm working, a JoAnn's gift card for when I get inspired to sew, a sewing for dummies purse pattern and a nifty little cross stitch kit for beginners!

Thanks for being an awesome swap partner emilee_bee!

Yeah! I received my second swap package from Arzu, and it's amazing. It made it all the way to Russia in one piece (helped that everything is soft).

The whole package together:

Arzu and I have the same problem - we end up knitting for others, and rarely for ourselves. So, she knitted for me, and I knitted for her... She sent me the best fingerless gloves made from Alpaca silk, which feels amazing. She also knitted a headband to match. I'm actually going somewhere this weekend where it's still cold enough to use them. And they fit perfectly!

Arzu also crocheted me a set of felted bowls and a (slightly) frilly mat, which are just too cute. I can't crochet worth a d***, so I'm impressed. The colors go perfectly with my recent remodel, so I just need to find the perfect place/use for them.

Lastly, I mentioned that I wanted to learn to needle felt, so Arzu sent a cool book on felted jewely, and a HUGE bag of hand dyed roving (unfortunately, my camera does not capture the colors well). Not sure what to start with, but I obviously have hours of fun ahead.

My partner, Fabric, is overloaded with work right now so I'll post some pics of what I sent her for package #3.
Basically it is a journal (big surprise, I always send journals!) which can be carried like a purse, or it can be a regular journal without the purse-handle too.

The spine/base:

What really makes this a "large" is that it's got a lengthy quote on both covers of the book that I did in needlepoint. Here's the first part:
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/100_7116.JPG[/img]
Here's the 2nd part:
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/100_7115.JPG[/img]

Here's what it says in its entirety (I pretty much know it by heart after spending so much time with it!):

"Be wicked, be brave, be drunk, be reckless, be dissolute, be despotic, be an anarchist, be a suffragette, be anything you like -- but for pity's sake be it to the top of your bent...

Live fully, live passionately, live disastrously. Let's live, you and I, as none have ever lived before." - Violet Trefusis, 1918

Then here's the inside of it, with the screwposts that make it close up and hold a purse handle.

We both like art nouveau and steampunk aesthetics, so the needlework and the structure of the book reflect those interests. I also decorated a couple of Altoids tins to go with the book, but didn't get photos of those; one was extra small and I attached it to the book to hold "necessary miscellany,"  Smiley and the other is full of journaling prompts on little cards. The book structure has a 3-ring binder, so I included different "refills" like a dream journal and this list-making set that helps bring awareness of the cycles of one's life.

I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out; I only wish that it could have fit inside this little steampunk-looking trunk I got on clearance at Michaels last month; that would have made the package more complete, I think. I might just have to keep crafting for her and send it later on! And since I didn't come up with the purse-handle idea til after I'd bound the book, the needlework is upside down.  Roll Eyes

Thank you so much for posting photos!
Everything you made just oozes with good and powerful feelings!
(that quote has re-ignited a fire in me, just as it was threatening to go out!)
And as far as continuing to swap in the future, I might just have to agree Wink....

PS: all the compliments you've received in this thread are so so so so so true. You're absolutely incredible, and I'm so glad we got to do this swap! Cheesy
