Ahoy! There's something up ahead! Is it a..pile of rubbish?!
NO! It's a dress!

My new years resolution was to get rid of aaalll my scrap fabric. This idea had been playing around in my head for awhile, but finally I had an excuse to do something like it.

I present to you, my dress of many scraps!

I started by cutting fabric into petal shapes, then ordered them by size. Then I sewed them to strips of cotton drill (that sounds SO much simpler than how it really was), and sewed those strips together. Talk about hard work! Then I sewed the whole skirt part to a top I bought.

And after this challenge, I think I'm going to take a big break from cutting fabric. Man. I have sores from using scissors! But I did use up almost all of my scraps of fabric, and now have room for more! Hooray!
Hope you guys like it =) I enjoyed making it!

Edited to add: I like the ideas people are coming up with for their own projects! Make sure you post them!

I think this is beautiful, I took photos of a similar dress in a shop a few years back, but I like that yours uses so many different fabrics and colors, and it's such a beautiful use of what could have been considered disposable. Bravo!

Holy macaroni! This is incredible, and your design is only matched by the patience it took to cut all those pieces!
