They look gorgeous - especially the carrot cake one!

Being not to experienced with CP - how do you use the pureed carrot? Just as the liquid portion and that's it? Do you weigh it? or use liquid volume?

I just add about 1 T. of puree per pound of oil.  I don't figure it into my liquids because I use a deep water discount so it doesn't really make a much difference.

you cant get more *from scratch* than that.....and whats more...its romantic....a merging of your creations to make something you HAVE to be nekkid to use.....sexay...

i really think i will try CP someday...i LOVE making M&P (especially the one i use) and i will never stop, but, once in a while, for kicks, it might be fun...but then again...my house is about to be full ot toddlers, and im not a fan of getting burned by tap water thats too hot, or irons, so caustic chemicals may not be good for me to play with......

i think im back....9 months almost to the day but i miss art, and i missed you guys!

Hi letusplay,
If you don't mind I had a few questions for you about your carrot cake soap.

I also make soap, mostly CP- but I have done a few HP.  I just made my first goat's milk soap the other day.  I love the carrot cake idea!!  Did you only use carrot puree- or did you mix it with water?   Did you add it to the lye solution?   Was it baby food?

Thanks so much!!

First I cut up and boiled the carrots in water until they were mushy.

The I drained them and used my stickblender to whip them up.

I used half the amount of water my recipe called for, and mixed up my lye water. Added to oils.

THEN at trace I added the other half of the water required, but as pureed carrots.

Thanks letusplay!
I should have read through all the posts before asking my question!  Smiley   I'm still learning.
