I bought a bunch of wool yarn a while back intending to make a funky striped sweater for myself.  I had no real pattern in the plan, but thought a top down raglan might be neat to try (yay for no seams!)

Starting with Wendy Bernard's Tomato as a pattern base, I got this:

I used Lion wool and various other similar sized yarns, added bust darts, and made it long sleeved.  The stripe pattern was a make it up as you go sort of thing.  I would have done it a bit differently if I had a plan, but I sure do like how it came out just the same:)

Whatcha think?

The colors were inspired by a sweater Willow wore in season 1 of Buffy.

yes, I am that big of a dork*.

Willow had awesome sweaters.

Your sweater's great!  I love the colors and the shape.  Could you give me a little info on how to do the darts?
Thanks,
Ellen

I got info on the bust darts from the Knitting Daily blog.  This post and this post covered enough info for me to figure it out.  I like this form fitting thing!  I got Fitted Knits for x-mas and plan to make more:) In retrospect I would've made the armpits tighter, but I think it'll block out okay.

yay for bust darts:)
