Hi everyone! This is my first craft challenge ever and first on Craftster. Joining craft challenges was actually a resolution of mine.  Smiley I found this topic extremely difficult! I couldn't think of any one craft.

This year I got tired of always trying to reinvent myself and make "a new and better me" year after year. SO, my resolution is to get to like the current me  Smiley I wanted to explore my current abilities, challenge myself and see what I can achieve. Not to try and be better, but to just learn to be myself. My entry is a digital scrapbook of my goals, challenges and progress for the year.

All of my digital elements are either handdrawn or digital freebies, from various sites around the internet. I couldn't possibly list them all, but there is some beautiful stuff out there. At the end of the year, as my reward I will have the book printed through Shutterfly as a gift to myself!

Some of the pages I didn't fill in completely, so that I can still work on them as I complete projects. That way, this craft will keep me motivated throughout the year. I am excited already about it! And happy myself with the way it turned out already. I've never used so much color in any craft! They aren't exactly all "matchy matchy"... but I kind of had fun making them all different. Just like my year will be!

Here's a link to my draft book in Shutterfly
http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0AbtW7hm5cN2Ljo

And here are the pages themselves

Thank you for looking!

First,  I love the the theme. I get really fed up with the "Brand New You" magazine covers in January. I don't need a brand new me either.
Secondly, really nice layouts. I love the bird silhouettes and great color combinations.
really nicely done.
ta for sharing.

thanks everyone so much! it was so much fun to put together. i've already started on my "build something" today!

no none of the backgrounds are from Shutterfly at all, they are all digital layouts I made using only Adobe Photoshop. I upload them as individual pictures and chose the full-bleed option for each book page. The only photoshop design I used was on the cover.

That is a great idea!  Cheesy Didn't realise you could get digital designs printed like this!

Does anyone know if there is something similar to Shutterfly in the UK?

i've never understood the hype over regular scrapbooking (to me it seems like so much paper to hold one photo)... i've never heard of digital scrapbooking though, i'll have to look into it! your pages are beautiful and creative - love it!

Wow just wow! Iv never looked into digital scrapbooking, but this has really caught my interest.

I really love this as as its so relevant to me. I spent the best part of last year totally hating the way i was and decided to make this year a new start etc.

You are so right, why change the way you are when you can show yourself just how great you really are!

I really want to do something like this but im a total novice!!

Hey, great job! I love the idea of your resolution...I'm like that too, like why do I always have to keep changing? Sometimes you have to accept love what you already have. I love the pages...I might have to create something like this.

I have a computer scrapbook program that I have not touched in a while, but now I might try again. Really nice job, looks so cool and pretty. I too love the idea of the resolution. Good luck with your goals and "not so new" you!

Why is it that I can no longer buy anything that has a slight chance I could make it myself? Even if I don't know how to make it, or it's cheaper to buy...I can no longer buy it because "I could make that myself".

I really love this!!  I hope that you show us your finished book at the end of the year!!

This past Christmas I made my in-laws a digital scrapbook and it was the first time I had tried scrapbooking digitally.  I must say, I'll probably never go back to scrapping the old way!  Digital is the way for me and my house stays clean.  Really, scrapbooking takes over my house and my life when I get into it.

Now that I've seen how gorgeous your pages are, I am really inspired to get creative with designing digital images.  Thanks for sharing!!!

I love this, I so want to make one to pass to my daughter! I never thought of doing it and getting it printed as a picbook!!!

for crafters in the uk i can highly recommend www.photobox.com as printers for photo books. they're the company I use to get any of my commissioned work printed for clients. And their courier service is amazing if you're pushed for time.

I need a program or something so that I can do this.  I was trying to use powerpoint to scrapbook my europe trip but it was so silly looking.
