I was working on my first sock attempt and I finally got to the interesting part which is also the hard part I guess............. annnnd now I'm stuck.

http://www.crochetandknitting.com/socks.htm <---This is the pattern.

It is after:
ROW 37 - (Joining row) ss to join Row 36 to Row 1. Turn inside out.

that I get stuck.

--> You now have a tube shape of ribbing. To start the foot of the sock, with right side facing you, ch 1, 1 sc at base of ch 1, 1 sc along each end of ribbing rows, ss to join to first sc at beg. (36 sc)

That part has confused me. Any way someone might be able to word it differently for me, or just help me out with the sock itself??

Ideally, I'd be covered in glue & face paint right now.

i was confused with this too.. its the same for the cuff of the gloves on that site. lets see if i can explain it...

okay the tube you have.. you need to start crocheting around the circle part. where your loop is at from joining the ribbing, ch 1 then sc in the base of that. then moving counter clockwise sc in each space. this part is weird because there arent really spaces for you to sc in. just make sure you are sc-ing in the end or the beginning of the ribbing.

does that help at all?!
