I have this idea for a swap where you'd make a doll to look like your swap partner (so you'd have to provide photos) including making little clothes like they wear, and maybe even little accessories like purse, jewelry or such. And the dolls could be made from any materials and in any styles, like with clay, fabric, crochet/knitted, with straw, whatever.

anyone interested?

i was trying to convince the mods how cool this would be at one point!

i think it would be very cool to do a swap that's a portrait of your partner made however you like, because people have really different types of skills. some people could sew a doll, someone else could embroider their portrait, someone else could knit an intarsia scarf with a pic of them on it (that would be really hard!), someone could do an appliqued mini quilt, someone could even do a melted bead hanging!

I love this idea!
(damn, too many wonderful swap ideas going around)
I really like crafty_dame's idea where the portrait would not have to be a doll, but it could be pretty much anything as long as it is a portrait
