i'm counting this as my second crochet project ever because i'm taking a break from my first one...but this was the first time i'd ever successfuly tried to follow a pattern.
i'd seen a few other examples of this bear from http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=2 and thought it was the cutest thing ever and looked like something i would be able to manage...so here he is! (along with my dazzling manicure, apparently)

i used a size 3 hook on this yarn that's 60% nylon and 40% wool and stuffed him with little pieces of an old sock so he's completely machine washable, if that ever happens to matter.  he turned out pretty tiny, so i decided to make him a keychain, put a little heart on his belly and give him to my boyfriend as an early valentine's day present because i was so excited to actually finish something that i couldn't wait...he named him harry heartful

It's funny, my second ever crochet project was a little orange bear that was pretty much the exact same size and color as the one you posted (maybe that's where I got the idea for Beary Jackson?) mine looked way bad though, didn't use a pattern so the arms and legs weren't quite even, heh. Your is so adorable, great idea to make him washable since he's a keychain, keychains always seem to get dirty.
