Ok, here's the picture of my yard stick fiber display:



I tied the coral ribbons around each end, secured those to the yard stick with glue dots, then used thumb tacks to attach the yard stick to the wall.  Then I just looped the fibers over the yardstick.

This really only works for short random lengths -- I have small balls (10 yards or so) in a box, and all my knitting/crochet yarns in clear rubbermaid containers in a closet.  But this is mostly my "altered art" fiber collection.  I have more though -- I have to buy another yard stick to put next to this one.

Now that is a pretty neato way to have your altered art fibers handy Kat.  I have an old wooden Ikea drawing paper holder (it holds a roll on a dowel) that would work perfectly for that!!  thanks for the idea

Pareidolia means seeing images in random stimuli (like say, animals in cloud shapes) and is quite useful when looking for ideas for art. [Dragon is a lino block print on patterned paper. Clouds are layers of Japanese papers + some beads and embroidery floss.]

And thanks for the great page and for posting the pics, minouette. I didn't know word pareidolia before, me and my sisters had called it "the face syndrome". Now I know the correct term and can be proud of my skill of seeing faces everywhere, because it helps me be more creative.

I'm glad you (and your cat too) liked the page. It's also nice to hear that the Kandinsky quote was so good choice for you.
