I love Glass Bottom Boat! I love everything bright green at the moment, but this colour combination is the best I've seen lately!

My yarns for this week:

Snow White, merino, 78m/130g
I'm planning to make a "urchin" out of this, but the wool is spun a bit too thick. Well, I think I'll try, maybe the smallest size will work for my big head with this yarn...  Grin

Rose-Red, merino, 158m/312g

This is for a birthday present for a friend. I spun the wool and another friend will knit it into a scarf (in fact it's almost finished).

I love the andes, glass bottom boat and the enchanted forest yarns. No, they're all beautifull!
And the idea of  someone spinning and the other friend knitting the present is really nice. That makes it such a personal gift  Cheesy

This is sock yarn spun from Sakina Needles' Waterspout.  It's so lovely, and was a dream to spin.  Now I just have to knit the socks.  Undecided

I have a BUNCH to share today!!!!  whoo hoo it's friday!!  Sorry in advance for my bad photos.. it's raining here today, so I had to take the photos in the bathroom..

The first is my favorite!!  It's 2 ply.. one is the Jan Fotm from Zen string.  It's 80/20 Merino/Tussah Silk- dyed in shades of warm browns.  The second ply is corridale dyed in shades of dark brown.  Together they make up about 8 oz, 120 yards of thick and thin.
I'm calling it "Box of Chocolate" in honor of upcoming V-day!!  It has all the browns you'd find in a yummy box of chocolate.. from creamy white chocolate to the red in cherry cordials...  it's definitly yummy!!

This is the leftover single from zenstring FOTM.  It's called "Rosewood"  (which is what she called it Smiley

This is called "amethyst"  It's alpaca, bamboo, silk and some angelina glitz.
It's from a Loop batt called "blackberries"  The photos just don't show the sparkle!!!
This is one of the last things I spun on my drop spindle..
3 oz, 130 yards

This one is called "rasberry latte"  because it reminds me of the yummy rasberry syrup and the deep espresso brown of the espresso and the creamy amber of the crema on top of the shot of espresso (I managed a starbucks for way to long!!)
It's also a Loop batt, called "chocolate liquer"  It's 100% bamboo.  I LOVE bamboo!! It's so soft and shiny!!
3 oz, 80 yards, spun thick and thin

Finally, this is the January FOTM from Spunky Electric.  I spun it thick thin, and plyed it together.  It's Grey Islandic dyed with deep blues and turqouises.  It's 8 oz, 110 yards.  I'm calling it "snowy days"

I just got my first bag of locks from hollyeqq.  spinning straight locks are fun! She even sent some angelina to add!!

and now what I have to work on... I just got a HUGE box from step LOOP.. I'm so excited I just want to dive in...  my kittens almost did!!

happy friday everyone!!

Yeah, I love FF!!  Everything looks awesome so far.  I especially love Blue Planet, Raspberry Latte and Igloo.  But all of them ROCK!!!!   Shocked

Here is my one lonely contribution this week.  I really need to find more spinning time.  Smiley

Taste the Rainbow--122 yards of handspun, plied with a varigated cotton crochet thread in pastel rainbow colors like the yarn.  Made from the October Batts from Traveling Rhino's Club.  Contains BFL, Superwash Merino, Domestic and Targhee Wools with Nylon & Angelina sparklies.

I love how this one came out!  It will stripe with wide non-repeating stripes!

The box..  FUN STUFF HUH?!?!  Smiley   Grin   Cheesy  It's from Loop.etsy  Steph is fantastic and we've had a running order for like a month..  she'd be working on something for me, then I'd add to it.. and add again...  LOL!!  I think this is more than a couple of pounds of fiber!!  I took photos of the individual batts because they are so fantastic!!

Oooh, everyone's yarns look lovely!   Cheesy

I especially like the coil-ey bits in Taste the Rainbow.

Here are a few that I've done recently...

Electric Goldfish is some super bulky merino in very loud colours that are more exciting in real life than in the photo.  I gave it to me friend and she's knitted a hat that I haven't seen yet.  Very excited about seeing the first thing that someone else has made with my yarn!

This is Green Man, which is a merino and silk blend from Wingham Wool Work.  I've got two skeins of it but haven't got in the habit of measuring and weighing all the things that I spin yet!

This is Grapevine, which is lovely super soft merino and I spun tons of it so I'm going to knit two scarves and give one to my Mum.

This one is a merino yarn called Ape of Death because when my boyfriend saw the brown fibre I used for it he thought it looked like the fur on the Ape of Death from an episode of the Mighty Boosh.

He's the Ape of Death and he don't care, cos he's the monkey with the lover-ly hair...

The last one is called Mermaid's merkin and I really tried to think of a different name in case that offended anyone but I couldn't!  Anyway, it's merino with some green silk that I dyed ages ago and I was really pleased with how it came out!

Haven't got a picture of it as a skein so here it is on the bobbin...

and here it is knitted into a scarf!

Can you tell that my knitting skills aren't very well developed?!   Roll Eyes  I can only do scarves!

That's it!  Can't wait to see some more yarns!   Grin

I spun a bunch this week, and I'm too lazy to post photos & descriptions of everything...so here's a mosaic! If you click on it, it takes you to the flickr photo page where there are links to the individual photos & descriptions.

I'm a big fan of Glass Bottom Boat, Tiny Dancer, Box of Chocolate, and I'm really super jealous of that gigantic box of Loop batts.

Oh man, I love Electric Goldfish! And those loop batts are just to die for.

I only have one photographed yarn this week. It's from my first drum carded batts, and I am so excited because I just ordered a Louet Roving Carder. Can't wait to throw all my bits n pieces into it and come out with some crazy yarns!

There is a bit of everything in this yarn, including novelty snippets, various wools, mohair, firestar, silk, hemp...anything that was sitting in my fiber stash, really!

And I'm really excited about this. It's a very long (over 7 feet!) scarf that I knitted with two different handspun yarns.

The black fuzzy trim is a Suss yarn, but the green is yarn spun from one of Loop's Mediterranean batts, with little mother of pearl beads included. The white yarn is an undyed merino that I spun with felted bobbles and big nubs, also from a Loop batt. (So much Loop love in this thread!)

Everything is so pretty!  I love, love, love Taste the Rainbow, I just want to squish it.

I haven't named these.  The first is superwash wool, about 240yds, fingering weight.  It's self striping, too.

This is also superwash (I have a 5lb box of it).  It's about 80yds, bulky thick and thin plied with yellow crochet cotton.

I used the white yarn to make this Zeebee hat:

Everyone's yarns are so beautiful this week!!!!!

I've got just one that's actually quite old, but it was part of a package for someone and didn't want to spoil it before.

It's 4oz Corriedale Cross spun into about 100ish yards.

I'm calling it "Riding the Ponies." It reminds me of a carousel because of the really vibrant colors, but that just seemed too boring...

My spinning for the week:

It's called Mansfield Park, because that's what was on PBS as I finished spinning it.
1.5 oz, 270 yards.  The wool was given to me, I'm not sure exactly what it is.

Gem Sweater is gorgeous, it reminds me very much of a beautiful sweater my mom knit years ago.

I love love love electric goldfish.  Also Mermaid's merkin.

By that reasoning, I should be calling this "The Breakfast Club."   Cheesy  But I'd already named it Zurov.  More sock yarn.  This is my first dye and spin (and knit) roving, and I love it.  It's got a lot more yellow-green than the picture lets on.  Must go to bed now. I've been spinning like crazy, because I need to start knitting tomorrow.

Due to technical difficulties I wasn't able to post until now, but I swear, my skeins were done on Friday!  Smiley  Here's what I've got (and forgive the weird pictures - I had accidentally left my camera to photograph in the RAW format, and was too lazy to retake the pictures once I realized, so I just went ahead and converted them into an HDR image.  In real life, the yarn does not glow, although that would be cool):

The beige and pinky skeins are a total of 195 yards and 11 1/4 ounces, and the pink skein is the leftover yarn navaho plied - 61 yards and 2 1/4 ounces.  The beige and pink yarn is really soft and fluffy, since I spun some really fat areas of the beige ply.

Also, I really, really, really love Picasso's Paintbrush and Electric Goldfish.  Smiley

the top left "sunset" , bottom right "georgia strait" and left "fresh straw" (blue faced leicester) are all from Yummy Yarns on etsy ( http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5106294 ).  the top right, which i call nautical is from Birkeland Bros.( http://www.birkelandwool.net/ ) (the white is a cross breed mix, and the blue is a perendale)
