Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the compliments. It's the first bag I made. When i started putting it together, I realized I did some things in the wrong order because I hadn't written anything down and was depending on my [feeble] memory to help me out. No go. But, other than the bottom seam on the inside, I'd say it came out quite well. But as far as that one terrible seam goes, I did write her a "Sewing General's Warning" about the health hazards of looking at it too closely haha.

Casstasstrophie, I'm really glad you liked everything and that you're using it all! I'm really glad that you like Sabriel. I love Garth Nix. Everything he writes is good, even the more child-focused books like the Keys to the Kingdom series.

The book cozy you gave me is housing 2 notebooks AND a book at the moment. It's crazy stretchy. My friends mom said "That looks like.... ice cream" and I was like "Yeah! I know! I told her I liked neopolitan colors and this is what she did!" Mission accomplished, I'd say.

JennCastor, I LOVE the bag you made for Sloane. I was talking to her the other day and was like "I wonder if she'd do a personal swap... that's so good!" haha

Thanks! It was my first bag, too. Oh, and as for the personal swap.....I might entertain the idea. Wink PM me!

Hiya,

Just thought I'd post up a pic of the bag I sent Leah_Danielle as she recieved it a little while ago:

It's the first bag I've ever made, so it's not perfect - but I like the fact that it's all lined with ladybird fabric! Smiley Also sent 'The Crow Road' by Ian Banks, 'The Little Prince' by Antoine de Saint Expury and a bookmark with a quote by Jorge Luis Borges... (forgot to get pics of those though...)

rakechan, that bag looks huge! Excellent! And, I love the look of the red and black and your idea to use ladybird/bug fabric on the inside!

I like the button that you used.  It keeps the scale quite nicely with the black polka dots.  A small button would have gotten lost.

Gosh - thanks chaps! *blush!*

I generally use pretty big bags (because I almost always have a sketch pad on me) so I figured bigger is generally more useful than smaller!

The button was too good to resist too - esp. as my boyfriend has a fear of buttons, and everytime he looked at it, it freaked him out (mwahaha - so much fun!)

Fear of BUTTONS?Huh?? That is the greatest thing I have heard all weekend!!!!!!! I had to google it. Its called Koumpounophobia.

"Some people find that plastic buttons are worse than metal ones (like the ones on jeans) or that buttons with four holes are more fear or panic-inducing than those with two." (what about shank buttons?)
