According to previous conversations with Dulcy, I think you have to get older plastic needles.  The newer ones have metal cores, which wouldn't be very happy in the microwave.  Very jealous of the bracelet!

Hmm, I've got an antique mall near me and there's a seller with a huge basket of vintage knitting needles. $5.00 seemed high for them, but this may be a reason to get a couple sets!
