This year, I want to do a "five senses" themed valentine's day for the boyfriend. Not too overboard, considering his birthday is only a week after (the 22nd) and mines a week after that (the 28th) and the anniversary is about a month after THAT (april 2nd)! Whew! Needless to say, v day hasn't been a huge thing in the past, and I don't intend on making it into one.
I want to give him 5 SMALL gifts, each dealing with one of the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. BUT I NEED SOME HELP! Here's what I've got so far:

Smell - a small bottle (only about 7 bucks) of cologne that he liked from the mall.
Taste - making him some chocolates that I already know he loves.

Here's what I DONT have:

Touch - I want to make something he can hold, something that is primarily cool to feel/touch. I'm thinking of sewing him a little stuffed turtle (he loves turtles!) with a heart on its back or something.
Sight - This should be easy enough, I just haven't quite brainstormed enough. I will probably use photographs somehow.
Sound - The most difficult! I have NO ideas coming to mind for this. I really don't want to make him a CD/tape with music on it. BUT I am open to somehow using the song "Happy Together" by (coincidentally) The Turtles.

So, any ideas for touch, sight, and sound? I'd appreciate it!

Some quick info:
- We have been together for nearly 3 years
- I cannot knit or crochet
- Sadly, the only musical instrument I play is clarinet, which doesn't help.
- He (John) is the very romantic and sappy type, but on the outside, he's a "manly man" (sports, fixing things, hairy, gassy, etc.)

THANKS!!!
Kayla

Make a photo cd with Happy Together playng in the background.  It can combine sound and sight or just use it for one.  My SIL did that for our wedding pics, it was nice.

I think, for sound, you should burn a CD with songs that mean something to you two. ^^

Sight.... mmm... that is hard.... I think that Photos are a great idea. Maybe a collage that he can hang, or something.

Hope that helps ^^

What about a small music box or a card that plays music when you open it? A viewmaster would be fun for sight, too.

for sight you could maybe make a sappy themed picture frame with a picture of you two doing something not so sappy inside? or possibly the reverse?

as for sound, they make tons of things you can record into now, i know my son has a teddy bear and you hold one paw and say something and the other plays it back, i'm not sure where you could by that though so that doesn't help much. sorry.

I think Build A Bear Workshop has something you can record and then put inside a bear.  Then you can dress it up as you like (or make your own clothes)

Is there any sand/snow/dirt around you at all?
I remember I was in the park once around here, and there was a bunch of dirt, so with my foot I scratched "I <3 RYO" [except it was a real heart, not less-than-three haha, and Ryo is his name] in it and took a picture and sent it to him. He liked it muchly.
Sight, covered?

I love this idea! If i did this for my boyfriend, the sight part of the gift would end up being something like unmentionables... for me... he's not the sappy type.  Roll Eyes

I love the idea of a cd of pictures to Happy Together.
