Ongoing Offer What You Have (Crafts and Supplies)--Feb
«
on:
January 30, 2008 03:58:55 PM »
Please do not post to this thread until: you have been approved and are claiming something. We do now have a discussion thread, please feel free to post any comments/questions there!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=223906.new#new
Please read entire post! There are a couple new things this month.
Swap name: Ongoing Offer What You Have (Crafts or Supplies) Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: maremare312
Swap runs: February 1, 2008 - February 29, 2008
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO
All ages allowed? All ages, but permission and ability to post pics and mail items in timely fashion are required for under-18 swappers.
Details:
If you a) have crafts lying around that you've made
or b) want to de-stash supplies or stuff from the holidays
or c) enjoy making things for other people
...then this swap is for you! It's a lot like the Ongoing Wish Swap, except instead of posting what you want to receive, you'll post what you want to give. To join you must have at least five things that you have made/would like to make/want to trade.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section is about me:
Swap Organizer meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
This section is about you:
Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an ongoing swap, feel free to join up at any time this month!
To join, first send a Personal Message to organizer maremare312 with the following questionnaire info. Once you are approved, you are free to claim something and post your list.
QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
-Name of swap: Ongoing Offer What You Have--Feb
-Craftster username:
-Email address:
-Your real name and mailing address, including country:
-Are you a Friend of Craftster or have you been a swap angel (with proof in profile)?:
-Did you read all the rules and understand how claiming and communication work?:
-Your list of at least five items (crafts you can make/have readymade or details of supplies you wish to offer):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.
http://craftster.org/swapsinfo.html
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an ongoing swap: Claim an item from the list of the last person who posted, and post your own list in response. It makes a chain. When we get to the end of the month, the very last person to post a list will be the first person to post a list at the beginning of the next month, if Craftsters decide to organize a new round at that time.
At the top of your claim post, state how many claims you have made this month, and how many of those are outstanding (i.e. the recipient has not yet received the item). If you can do it in this format to differentiate between things you are claiming to receive, and things being claimed from you (sendouts), that would be awesome!
Claims:4
Claims Allowed (Outstanding):3
Sendouts Not Sent:1
Sendouts Sent:2
Sendouts in Transit:1
Sendouts Received:1
Remember your outstanding claim limit for this round:
Friend of Craftster: Three
First-Time Swapper: One
Everyone Else: Two
This is how many pending at a time you may have, as soon as one of your packages is received then you may claim again.
Your list of offerings: if your list stays up for more than 48 hours before someone claims from it, you must add something to it. You can also allow claimers to add more items together to make a claim (i.e. they don't seem to be biting on your earrings, so now they can take two pairs for a single claim instead of just one.) If you are having trouble coming up with stuff to add, consider offering a small item to be custom made for the person who claims from you. This can be conditioned on using stash items if you wish. Remember that it must be something that you can complete in two weeks, unless your partner agrees otherwise.
Once someone claims from you, you have two weeks to get the package in the mail. Please contact the organizer by personal message when you send the package and when you receive a package so everyone gets credit.
NEW!
When you email me that you have sent or received (and please don't forget to do either, and cc it to whoever sent or you are sending to), PLEASE put
OOWYH Feb--Sent
or
OOWYH Feb--Received
in the subject line and in the body please put
Due date Feb 16
maremare312 to whoever--soap supplies
but you know, with the correct info for you
This would make my job a lot easier as we get busier, and encourage me to want to organize another month!
ALSO:
Please make sure to post to the discussion thread so you stay up on any updates!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=223906.new#new
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do not sign up unless you are willing to send outside of your country.
Check out the previous rounds if you need help figuring out the scope of what to put on your list. It is typically in the $5-$15 range, from a half a yard to a couple yards of fabric depending on weight and fanciness, crafted accessories, grab bags of yarn, beads, buttons and notions, things of that nature.
Photos and the Gallery: Whenever possible, include pictures of the items you're offering in your posts. When you receive, it is important for you to thank your partner, be courteous and communicative, but a lot of the items are premade or stash, so posting pictures in the Gallery isn't crucial. The exception to this is when something is custom-made for you in this swap. And if you make something with supplies you receive in this swap, we want to see it!
Delivery Confirmation numbers are mandatory for people in the U.S. sending to other people in the U.S., and everyone else must keep their receipts.
I will be giving feedback in the following way:
- great swapper! : followed all rules, good communication and timely send outs
- good/poor communication: where applicable
- sent late: more than a week late
- no dc number: failed to comply with the rule about using a delivery confirmation number for packages within your own country
This round of the swap will close around midnight, on the official Craftster clock, February 29. Feedback will be given on March 1st for all participants who have no pending claims. Everyone whose packages haven't been received will get feedback once the package reaches its destination.
Reminders/Summary:
1. Please please put OOWYH Feb (or spell it out if you so wish) in the subject headings of all pm's to me. I will love you forever if you help me stay organized.
2. Make sure to pm both me and who you sent to when you send out, with DC number if you are both in US.
3. Make sure to pm both me and who you receive from when you receive.
4. As soon as you claim something from someone, shoot them a pm with your address so that they have it and don't have to chase you down later.
5. Lets keep this swap moving, try to stay on top of adding new things/combining items into one claim if your list stays up more than a couple days.
6. Post pics in the gallery if someone makes you something custom or you make something from supplies you receive.
7.
NEW
Lets try to keep this thread for lists as much as possible to save on confusion. If your list is up, please post a "bump" after you have added something new/combined your items, but otherwise please try to post all questions/comments/requests/whatever into our discussion thread. I promise to only post gentle reminders when we forget until we get used to using the discussion thread, found here:

Screennprinted Audrey Hepburn tee. Pale aqua with gold ink, American Apparel size small, but it's really long. Would be cute reconned into a tank or tube top.

I’m katera, and I’ve been approved for this swap. I’d like to claim the 6 soap assortment from maremare. This is my first claim this round. I’m in Oklahoma.
Here is my list of stuff to offer – .
Two “Native symbols” terracotta pots and two matching kitchen dish towels. Whole set counts as 1 item.
Clay cat pin. I didn’t craft this, it was a gift. I can type out the text on the back of the card if anyone’s interested. Artist is Jacqui Ertischek.
Collectible Pooh stamps from Canada in painted frame with matching shirt - shirt has some small spots, I will bleach them if you claim. Both together count as 1 item.
Bears! 1 craft bear, 1 "doodle bear" - no markers, sorry! Both together count as 1 item.
Tiny Jeans and overalls and one jean vest. I intended to recon these to bags but never did. 4 pairs of overalls brands Liberty and Old Navy All size 24mo or 2T . 3pairs jeans brands KRU and Old Navy sizes 12mo and 2T. Vest is Baby Gap size 12-24 mo. Whole set counts as one item.
Four orange glass votive holders.
Philosophy bag with attached mirror including philosophy samples of hope in a jar, purity made simple, amazing grace and inner grace shower gels.
Take anything or everything in this pic free with any other claim - just trying to clean out!
“cleaning the craft bin assortment” includes leaflet for cross stitch patterns for Christmas mugs, black sweatshirt collar and cuffs (left over from recon), small navy bucket hat infant or doll size, several plastic pipette style droppers, and royal blue cotton with a silver cross stitch design done with waste canvas – was intended to be a ‘favor’ for medieval fairs, never finished it, you can easily repeat the design and finish yourself or use as trim or small bag.
Also,
DON'T FORGET TO LOOK HERE
please click here to view all the t-shirts and other random clothes for recon I have to offer. Claim any two items, the shirt/pant sets and the sweatshirt/sweatpant set can count as one item each, otherwise mix and match any others available.

I'd like to claim the vintage plaid wool skirt and the 2 black t-shirts. Also, the philosophy bag if that's ok -- I think that all counts as one claim!
Here is my stuff. Everything counts as one claim each, things in groups are one claim per group:
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=104621&ppuser=53317
First fabric is 1 yard of Michael Miller Geisha kitties
2nd fabric is 1.5 yds of kid-print twill and 1 yard of matching stripe. Counts as one item
3rd group is half a yard of Kitty Cucumber Xmas fabric with 2 matching FQs
4th is a random group of FQs and large scraps in earth tones
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=104622&ppuser=53317
This is 4 crafting books, each book counts as 1 claim
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=104623&ppuser=53317
Huge lot of cross stitching books
First, 3 books on borders and small designs -- good for DIY subversive stitching
2nd is an Encyclopedia of Puppies. Some unusual breeds here (Bernese Mountain Dog)
3rd is a hardback book, Seasons Remembered. Very beautiful, intricate designs
4th is a group of leaflets including minis, lots of country, and backstitch alphabets
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=104624&ppuser=53317
Misc groups, each counts as 1:
2 cross-stitch hand towels
Large lot of cross-stitch fabric, bookmarks, ribband, some small aida cloth
Misc group of stitching stuff incl. buttons, FQ, some glitter embroidery thread
10x10 scrap pack, a little used but not much
Misc group of jewelry and beads, some handmade, can be taken apart or used as is.
Hope the photos work!

I will claim purpleone's tiny pop-tart charm and
Quote
Roll-on sweet almond oil scent (unused gift, by Etsy artist). Grace is a clean scent with bergamot, water lily, lavender and jasmine.
This is my 1st claim this month. I have 2 pending from last month.
My list
For your claim, you can pick any THREE of the following (or one thing from the "pick 2" list and 1-2 things from this "pick 3" list):
- these shiny doodads, flat on their back-side-- butterflies, flowers and bows. Im not sure if theyre glass or plastic, somewhere in the middle...
- Vintage men's knit shirt and shorts pattern, Simplicity pattern 5044. size 42; chest 42", waist 36". Please let me know if you specifically want the image on the front of the envelope; otherwise I'll keep it for cheesy papercraft
- Vintage women's jumpsuit pattern, Butterick #5889, size 14. Please let me know if you specifically want the image on the front of the envelope; otherwise I'll keep it for cheesy papercraft
- Vintage women's ("misses") pattern for blouse, halter and pants; McCall's #4426. Misses' size 16, bust 38. Please let me know if you specifically want the image on the front of the envelope; otherwise I'll keep it for cheesy papercraft
- Vintage womens Simplicity pattern #7049, for dress or shirt
- 6 small vintage "open house" cards with envelopes
- unopened pack of Ranger Rick valentine cards! Theseve got to be old. If you claim these I promise to mail them ASAP so you get them in time for V-Day.
- 2 medium-large-ish wooden embroidery hoops of the same size
- 2 unfinished wooden door-hangers for decorating
- An approx. 6x6" needlepoint on Aida cloth that says in dainty letters, "F*** your gender". (The actual piece has it spelled out, and I'm not posting a photo for obvious reasons.)
- Loves Me/Loves Me Not wheel, in plastic packaging, comeswith envelope for mailing. Spin the wheel instead of picking a poor daisy's petals off! There are also answers like those of a Magic 8-Ball inside of the wheel (in the 2nd picture), with a window on the outer/top wheel.
- Outer cover (front and back covers still attached to each other) of old pulp paperback novel, airline/pilot themed. Some pages from the book included.
- A bunch of these white satin pieces embroidered with an F in a metallic gold (Teachers: flunk out your students with style!)
- Foam bear stamp
- Gift Baskets for All Seasons, by Elizabeth Jane Lloyd
- The Stencilling Workbook by Judy Tuttle (ISBN 0-88266-682-7). Primarily floral designs. 158 pgs, 50 projects.
- Sculpture in Paper by Ralph Fabri. Nothing abstract in the book, all about making 3-dimensional people and animals out of paper.
- The Complete Guide to Rubber Stamping, by Grace Taormina
- This piece of ranch-themed (?) fabric (its draped from the top of the bed downward, for scale)
- squishy mold for ice cubes, soaps, etc.
- Vintage Strawberry Shortcake "Spank the Berry Bird" card game. The cards are in the same style as the rest of the old Strawberry Shortcake illustrations, but they do not have any images of the characters themselves, with the exception of the Berry Bird.
- Vintage "Little Cindy" doll
- Animal print fabric pack - faux fur/plushie material (it doesnt look or feel like real fur) with a yard or 2 of plain cotton (?) leopard print
- 12x12 scrapbook paper grab-bag - mainly modern girlie style and bright colors, 20+ sheets, very few duplicates
- Black beaded necklace with pink and crystal accents. Those are Barbie feet down in the corner, for scale.
- Small glass paints in multiple colors, from beginners kits, with an applicator. Ill include the instructions from the original pseudo-stained glass kit.
- Book entitled "Water" for altered book project. It's an old USDA Agricultural Yearbook publication, available online in full-text, but the best part is this great bookcover of a disembodied cow head arising from the water! I've already pulled out several pages to facilitate less-bulky altering; my original idea was to make the book about this cow named Water who was out for revenge...but the idea never went anywhere. It's got good potential, though:
- 4 handmade journals made from recycled materials. I will try to send ones that match your taste. This one is just a sample front and back:
- Frame decorated with fortunes from fortune cookies and bits of color here and there. Includes the wall-mount hardware.
- 3 beaded safety pin cuff bracelets - 1 small purple with sequins, 1 medium reddish, 1 large (the rainbow one).
- Vastu Vidya Handbook: The Indian Feng Shui by Juliet Pegrum
Or, pick two of the following:
- Thick book of variety of sheer fabric samples, most white or off-white but several colors as well.
- Bob Marley book, by Margaret E Ward (ISBN #0681418664). 80 pages. Good condition, has TONS of color and b&w images, it could be kept for its original booky purpose or torn into for reuse of the images.
- 4 matching vintage schoolhouse cutouts. Appr. 8" tall, some with a reversed design so they can be placed back-to-back. Small hole in the top of each. Would make a great cover for a round-robin journal/book about school life.
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/school.jpg
- Rolls of color-coded stickers with days of the week, in a few languages. They're in a floppy plastic enclosure that keeps them together.
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/75773stickers.jpg
- 3-d paper Muppet Show centerpiece, circa 1980.
- Vintage embossing kit - pretty much all thats left is the 6 vials of embossing powder (copper, gold, silver, red, blue, and green):
- Set of 8 pulp paperbacks with cool covers (If you just want the covers and not the insides of the books, you can claim something else from any part of my list because the postage will be less)
- Vintage cotton half-apron with pocket. Has some small grease-stains on it.
- Pick 5 vintage childrens picture books from the following photos. California Plant/Animal Communities, the pirate book, and Wise Dog have already been taken. Newest of these are from the early 1980s (the Sesame Street Little Golden Books):

OMG. must have jumpsuit! I claim patterns - 5889, 4429 (haltertops and jumpsuits!) and the embroidery hoops.
Choose one:
- One small wooden cabinet to decorate. Baby hands for scale.
- Two yards of white tulle.
- One linoleum block (mounted on wood) carved by me, based on a illustration my sister drew of a starving dog.
- One half of a kirigami-a-day calendar, untouched between June and December, with lots of earlier also untouched pages and instructions. Can be used as intended, or as origami paper. That's over 120 pieces of paper.... and there are more colors than I represent here.
-5+ oz merino superwash roving in light blue with colorful noils. (2 available)
-8 skeins of peach Unger "fluffy." 100% acrylic, but really quite soft and, yes, fluffy. (it's about a US 4 needle size, though they recommend 6 on the label)
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0005be6h
Or pick two:
-Simplicity 4226 pattern sizes 6-14 (US), unopened.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0005hqdg
-Pink handspun yarn (3.5+ oz) is 2/3 mystery roving and 1/3 columbia fleece dyed with pokeberry. I am calling it a naive yarn, because it is all bumpy and fuzzy, the real issue was that the columbia wasn't washed enough prior to spinning and didn't draft well as a result.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0004y60k
- brown/blue handspun yarn (approx 2 oz) is 1/2 mystery roving (if I'm not mistaken, it appears to have some silk in it) and 1/2 columbia dyed with black walnut and supplemented traces of green columbia (kool-aid dyed) with (undyed) merino for contrast. This columbia was re-washed before spinning, and drafted a bit more evenly, resulting in a worsted weight yarn.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/00056eq1
- 8 feet of lace, about 1 1/2 inches wide.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/000664cw
Or pick
three
:
- one tiny spindle, as for sock yarn.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/00069wd2
-one lot of fasteners, three punky large safety pins, three tiny clothes pins and one tiny binder clip.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/00068psd
- lot of two christmas ornaments to crosstitch - unopened.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0005gfbs
- Opened and used baby bedroom decor patterns MacCall's 8373 - I made only the ruffle and the bumper, and everything should still be in the package.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0005q0zx
- lot of thin, flat plastic pieces. You'll get at least 13 of the blue and 15 of the silver, what you can do with them.... I don't know.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/00063579
- lot of sticky-backed foam letters. This is just a sample of the font and the colors. There may be more colors, but in the neon vein. Seriously, I have many, many of these, about 1 inch high.
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/0005p2fd
Or pick
four
fat quarters:
http://pics.livejournal.com/astormorray/pic/00053tbe
one pink and white flowers on blue
one <O> sort of shapes on blue
one blue cloudy with dark stars
one cats in space on blue background
two geometric with teal, dark blue, and purple
Or pick 8 skeins from this mixed bag of yarn. Mostly acrylic, but the white fuzzy stuff is 10% mohair, and the red is 100% wool, though it doesn't look or feel it, particularly. These are worsted weight or finer.
